ivsEdits LE 3 Does not accept .MOV files

Hi , I am just learning about your editing program.  I believe I have installed the LE software correctly and so wanted to try and do some basic  things with some .MOV files I have.

First I see that I cannot collect .MOV files as they are unsupported.

Your tutorial explains that the recode utility can convert these.  However, when I try to do this, I get a message that recode is only available with the full version.

So therefore is it impossible to utilise .MOV files with ivsEdits LE ?

thanks!

Re: ivsEdits LE 3 Does not accept .MOV files

Hello Steve,

ivsEditsLE supports MOV files but since MOV is not a file format, but a container, I suppose that your files have a codec that is currently not supported by your system. Do you know what is your codec? Can you read them with both VLC and QT player on the same PC of ivsEditsLE?

Ciao,

Paolo

P.S. I confirm that ivsRecode is not bundled with the free version of ivsEdits, but if you'd need to convert your files, there are other free or cheap apps to make it for you.

Re: ivsEdits LE 3 Does not accept .MOV files

Hi Paolo,

thanks for your suggestion. I am not sure what the codec is  although it plays fine with windows media player ( win 8.1 ) on the same PC.

I converted the short MOV clip to an AVI with an online application and this was accepted by ivsEdits.

regards,

Steve
