Here are the guidelines to build a fast and certified desktop/rackmount workstation for ivsEdits. There are different solutions for different budgets. These guidelines are good for all the premium NLEs like Adobe Premiere & After Effects, GV Edius, and for all demanding video and graphics applications, like Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk 3DS Max, Maxon Cinema 4D, etc. If you'd like to buy a "BRAND" computer, please use the guidelines (CPU & GPU) to select the right model, and be careful, sometimes you will need to buy a more expansive CPU to get the same results of our reference systems.
Computer performances may change a lot using the right RAM modules and settings; sometimes you can double the speed of your workstation making small and inexpensive changes (BIOS settings, adding memory modules, etc.)! We designed a specific benchmark tool to help you and ourselves to understand if the PC is fast enough for HD or 4K editing or to verify that it is working properly. "ivsEdits Speed Tester" can be downloaded here or, if you already installed our NLE, it is within the ivsEdits main folder. Click here to watch its tutorial. Upon request, we can provide complete turnkey systems "Optimized and Certified by IVS", it is our job since 1995.

ALTERNATIVE GRAPHIC CARD: Nvidia GEFORCE GTX1050TI (ivsSpeedTester GPU test ~190 FPS 1920x1080)
MINIMUM HD PERFORMANCE SYSTEM
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-7600 (ivsSpeedTester CPU Copy Mem ~1488 FPS 1920x1080)
MOTHERBOARD: Asus Z170K
RAM: 2x4GB G.SKILL DDR4* 2133MHz CL9 in Dual channel mode (2 dimms are required)
GRAPHIC CARD: AMD Radeon R7 260X (ivsSpeedTester GPU test ~230 FPS 1920x1080 on Z87-C)
ALTERNATIVE GRAPHIC CARD: CPU integrated Intel HD 630 (ivsSpeedTester GPU test ~190FPS 1920x1080)
IMPORTANT NOTEs: All systems using DDR2 DIMMs, are usually not fast enought for HD editing. Low power CPUs from Intel (with name ending with T) are usually too slow for any editing experience with ivsEdits. Few Nvidia Quadro GPUs are in the guidelines for their price/performance ratio, but some models, including Quadro K5200, P4000 and newer ones, are certified too.
