Cannot open specified file

Hello I've been using ivsEdits to edit a project for school that involved filming and I don't have the best laptop and I was using it to edit my film down and for some minor video and audio effects but when I was about finished it froze my computer gave the windows 8 blue screen of death related to threads not being handled then reboot to fix=black screen, I attempted to fix it but failed (prior computer hardware knowledge)(probably gpu) , so I went to use my other laptop not as good but this time use less of everything I'm about done when i save then reboot to cool down CPU load back up and it says "Cannot open specified file" please someone help. this has been 48hrs of hell.

Re: Cannot open specified file

Hello 7777777

this a file corruption problem probably due to a bad memory Dimms. Anyway the more easy attempt to recover your timeline and your repositories is to create a new project and import the timelines files from corrupted project to the new one. Alternatively you can open the project folder and rename the project names in order to load a backup copy. If the folder of your project is named YOURPROJECT, you will find a file YOURPROJECT.TWPJ  and if backups exist too you will find YOURPROJECT.BK1 and YOURPROJECT.BK2. Renaming .TWPJ to TWPO and .BK1 or .BK2  to .TWPJ you should recover your project without losses.
