Hi I just downloaded IVSedit, and did a quick scan with AVAST and it said this file was a Decompression Bomb. Have you encountered this before. I think it may be a false positive but just wanted to check.
Thanks in Advance
Sorry forgot to paste the filename:
ivsEDITS_logo-notext-UHD.tga
Thanks again
Hello DaveS,
the file "ivsEDITS_logo-notext-UHD.tga" is a TARGA File I have personally built with Photoshop or The Gimp.
Of course it is a false positive and it is not a random situation. You can check that Avast, Eset/Nod and AVG are in our Antivirus Blacklist from several time and it is my opinion that some/all of these companies are pushing software makers to ask/pray to pay to certify that own code is clean.
I can suggest to uninstall Avast replacing it with any antivirus product from Avira. This is the best company available for us because if someone sends a file to verify they check it immediately and they remove the false positive alert usually in 48 hours giving you some feedback too. I tried to do the same several times with all other companies but I'm still waiting for a single answer. Anyway Avira (PRO and free) offers also the fastest and less invasive antivirus engine I have tried until now and if you have not a fast pc this is very relevant. Learn more on www.avira.com
